The Stormtech Stavanger AFV-1 is a men's quilted thermal vest derived from the AFP-2 jacket — same Thermal Shell™ broken fiber polyfill insulation (feather-free synthetic), same PFC-free DWR-treated nylon outer shell, but without sleeves or hood for total arm mobility. Built for -10°C to +5°C as a mid-layer or as a standalone in mid-season. Available from S to 6XL.

Thermal protection

Recommended comfort range: -10°C to +5°C*. The Thermal Shell™ broken fiber polyfill traps heat at the torso — the body's vital zone for thermal regulation. For lower temperatures, wear the AFV-1 under an insulated outer jacket. For maximum mobility, the vest is also perfect as a standalone in mid-season.

Size Guide

The AFV-1 has a men's ergonomic fit. For standard wear, choose your usual size.

For layering over a thick sweater or heavy shirt, if in doubt, size up.

For accurate measurements, take them in your underwear or wearing a light t-shirt, keeping the tape measure flat against your body without pulling tight.

Care & Durability

Washing: machine wash at 30°C, gentle cycle, zip closed
Drying: hang to dry — avoid tumble drying to preserve insulation and DWR finish
Ironing: do not iron (risk of melting the nylon)
Do not: bleach, dry-clean, iron
DWR reactivation: if water repellency drops, separate wash with a dedicated outdoor product (Nikwax type)
