Thermal protection

The insole adds the heat the shoe does not produce, without replacing it: socks and shoes must be enough on their own. Lay it under the sock, never under a bare foot, as cold numbs sensitivity and a burn goes unnoticed. It is designed for the reduced air inside a closed shoe, but a tight shoe smothers it and squeezes the foot: leave room for air. A sweating foot chills as soon as the reaction stops; if your feet are warm, take the insole out.
