The Stormtech Fairbanks PXR-2 is a modular men's parka built for extreme cold. Its parka-length shell in HD Taslon nylon at 170 g/m² carries the H2XTREME® 8,000 mm / 8,000 g/m² membrane and fully sealed seams. Inside, a Thermal Shell™ insulated liner zips out, sleeves included. The insulated hood snaps off. Comfort from −10 °C / 14 °F to −30 °C / −22 °F*, from S to 5XL.

Thermal protection

The warmth comes from Thermal Shell™ insulation, a high-loft synthetic fill engineered for cold, damp conditions: its quilted construction stabilises the fill and reduces cold spots, the places where fabric presses flat against the skin. The HD nylon shell takes abrasion and blocks wind, the H2XTREME® membrane stops water while releasing vapour, and the fully sealed seams remove leaks at every stitch line. The parka length protects the lower back and upper thighs, the area any standard jacket leaves short. The full-coverage insulated hood handles head and neck, where a large share of body heat is lost at a standstill.

How to wear it

Three parts come away — the liner, its sleeves, the hood — giving five ways to wear the same parka.

Full parka — shell, long-sleeved liner and hood in place, the deep-winter configuration
Parka without the hood — the same warmth, a more urban line, the high collar retained
Shell only — a waterproof, windproof jacket for the wet mid-season, or worn over heavier insulation
Liner only — a light quilted jacket for unheated indoor spaces or as a 2nd layer under another jacket
Liner without sleeves — an insulated vest, keeping the core warm while the arms stay free

Size guide

The Fairbanks PXR-2 has a straight cut. For standard use, choose your usual size.

The shell is dimensioned to take the insulated liner, so the room is already built in — if in doubt, take the size above.

For an accurate reading, take your measurements in underwear or a light t-shirt, keeping the tape flat against the body without pulling it tight.

Care & Durability

Separate the shell and the liner before washing, and wash them apart
Machine wash at 30 °C / 86 °F maximum, delicate cycle, zips closed
No fabric softener, it clogs the membrane and removes breathability
Tumble dry on low heat, or air dry
Do not iron, do not dry clean, do not bleach
Reactivate the water repellency after washing: 20 minutes in the tumble dryer on low heat
Wash as soon as water stops beading, a soiled fabric loses its repellency before it loses its waterproofing
Following the instructions on the inner label conditions any warranty claim
