The Stormtech Epsilon HR-2 is the next generation of the 3-in-1 system jacket. Its stretch Nylon Ripstop shell delivers unrestricted freedom of movement, its YKK® AquaGuard® zippers are fully waterproof, and its zip-out puffer liner holds down to -30°C*. A jacket engineered for those who won't compromise between performance, comfort and style. Women's version available.

"The HR-2 is the evolution of the SSJ. Where the SSJ range uses a fleece liner, the Epsilon comes with a real puffer jacket — warmer, more compressible, more modern. The stretch shell is a step change too: you can move freely without the jacket pulling across the back.

YKK AquaGuard zippers are fully waterproof — an extra layer of protection against water ingress. Shell alone for the shoulder seasons, puffer alone for cold dry days, both together to push down to -30°C."

Thermal Protection & Modularity

Recommended use from -10°C to -30°C*. The HR-2 works across three configurations:

Shell alone — waterproof and stretch, ideal from +15°C to -10°C for active use.
Puffer liner alone — insulating jacket, perfect in cold dry conditions or for urban use.
Shell + Puffer — full system for extreme winter conditions down to -30°C.

How to get the best from it?

The Grand-Froid 3-Layer System:

1st layer — breathable thermal base layer: wool for versatility and natural comfort, synthetic for breathability and value. Both work — the key is that it moves moisture away from the skin
2nd layer — the HR-2 puffer liner: zip-out insulating jacket — warm, compressible, usable alone or zipped into the shell
3rd layer — the HR-2 shell: waterproof, stretch and windproof outer protection — fully waterproof YKK AquaGuard zippers

Tip: Get dressed in a cool environment just before heading out — layering up in a heated room saturates your base layers with moisture and reduces their effectiveness from the very first minutes of exposure.

Drying: hang to dry or tumble dry on a low heat setting
Do not: iron or dry clean
DWR reactivation: after washing, tumble dry the shell on low heat for 20 minutes to restore the durable water repellent finish
