The Stormtech Patrol XB-3 combines the stretch of a softshell with the weatherproofing of a protective shell. Built around the H2XTREME® 10,000 mm / 3,000 g/m² membrane, fully sealed seams and waterproof zips, it holds back water and wind while maintaining excellent breathability during intense activity. Outer fabric in polyester bonded to jersey, 240 to 265 g/m² depending on the weave. Comfort from +5 °C / 41 °F to −10 °C / 14 °F*, from S to 6XL.

This versatile jacket works as a protective outer layer, or as an all-in-one shell depending on conditions.

Between 0 °C / 32 °F and +5 °C / 41 °F — worn directly over a breathable technical base layer during dynamic activity
Below 0 °C / 32 °F, down to −10 °C / 14 °F — pair it with a thermal 2nd layer, fleece or light quilted jacket, to maximise heat retention

Thermal protection

A softshell does not generate warmth on its own: it protects the heat produced by the body and by the layers worn underneath. Here, the H2XTREME® membrane stops water and wind while letting vapour escape, the fully sealed seams remove leaks at every stitch line and the waterproof zips close the openings. The dropped back, the adjustable hem and the adjustable gusseted cuffs block cold-air entries at the extremities. Worth knowing: the Patrol XB-3 is a 3rd layer. Worn on its own it covers down to −10 °C / 14 °F while active; at a standstill or lower in temperature, it calls for an insulating layer underneath.

How to wear it

The hood comes off and goes back on, which gives you two jackets in one.

Hood on, shockcord tightened — outdoor configuration in rain or wind, the articulated hood follows the movement of the head
Hood removed — urban and professional configuration, the collar stays high and the jacket keeps its weatherproofing across the shoulders
The action — open the fastening that joins the hood to the neckline, lift the hood clear, close it back up

Size guide

The Patrol XB-3 has a straight cut. For standard use, choose your usual size.

As it is worn as an outer layer, allow the room the layers underneath will need — if in doubt, take the size above.

For an accurate reading, take your measurements in underwear or a light t-shirt, keeping the tape flat against the body without pulling it tight.

Care & Durability

Machine wash at 30 °C / 86 °F maximum, delicate cycle, zips closed and hood attached
No fabric softener, it clogs the membrane and removes breathability
Tumble dry on low heat, or air dry
Do not iron, do not dry clean, do not bleach
Reactivate the water repellency after washing: 20 minutes in the tumble dryer on low heat
Wash as soon as water stops beading, a soiled fabric loses its repellency before it loses its waterproofing
