The Rogue 2 is the women's leather winter boot from Kamik, the Canadian maker based in Montréal since 1898. Its leather upper with sealed seams and synthetic rubber outsole stop snow and cold rain; every material and seam is treated to block moisture.

Inside, 200 g of Thinsulate™ provides the insulation, under a faux-shearling lining that keeps the foot dry. The moulded EVA footbed comes out to dry or to slip in a thicker one. A 20 cm shaft covers the ankle, for the weight of an ankle boot rather than a snow boot.

Classic lacing. Available in EU size 42.

Not the warmest Kamik in the range; that is its point. Women in Québec City wear it from October to April because it weighs nothing on the foot and goes anywhere, from the office to the snowy pavement. For −20 °C / −4 °F days without moving, add a Heat Holders merino sock and leave the footbed in place: it is what cuts the cold from the ground.

Thermal protection

The Thinsulate™ 200 g insulation holds the air warmed by the foot in little thickness, which keeps the boot light; the faux-shearling lining wicks perspiration away and the removable footbed screens the foot from the cold ground. The comfort rating applies on the move, with a thin to medium sock. For deep snow or hours standing still in deep cold, take a high boot with a removable liner — here, lightness was the choice.

Women's fit, true to size. To measure: stand barefoot on a sheet of paper with your heel against the wall, mark the tip of your longest toe and read the length off the table. To choose: your usual size with a thin or medium sock; the removable footbed can be swapped for a thicker one if you want more warmth from the ground.
