Its bonded Sherpa Polar Fleece 450 g/m² is thick, soft and cosy — a formidable insulating 2nd layer under a waterproof shell, or a standalone 3rd layer in cold, dry conditions. Thermal Protection

Recommended use down to -20°C as part of a 3-layer system*. At 450 g/m² of bonded Sherpa polar fleece, the Bergen is one of the most insulating fleeces in the Stormtech range. Worn as a 2nd layer under a waterproof shell with a good thermal base layer, it significantly extends the comfort range of the whole system. Alone, it suits most activities from 0°C to -10°C.

How to get the best from it?

The Grand-Froid 3-Layer System:

1st layer — breathable thermal base layer: wool for versatility and natural comfort, synthetic for breathability and value. Both work — the key is that it moves moisture away from the skin
2nd layer — Bergen DLX-1W: this is where it excels. Its 450 g/m² Sherpa creates a thick, cosy thermal barrier — immediate warmth, maximum comfort, clean fitted silhouette
3rd layer — waterproof shell: full outer protection against wind, rain and snow

Tip: Get dressed in a cool environment just before heading out — layering up in a heated room saturates your base layers with moisture and reduces their effectiveness from the very first minutes of exposure.
