Thermal Protection

Recommended for use down to -30°C*. The Thermolex™ High Loft insulation, combined with the HD H2XTREME® 10K/10K membrane and the internal snow skirt, creates a complete thermal protection system.

How to wear it well

The Grand Froid 3-layer system:

Layer 1 — breathable thermal base layer: wool for versatility and natural comfort, synthetic for breathability and price. Both work — the key is that it wicks body moisture away
Layer 2 — mid layer: this is your adjustment variable. Thin and breathable for intense physical activity, thick and insulating for passive activities or long exposure to the cold
Layer 3 — the Denali EPK-3: complete outer protection against wind, rain and snow

Tip: Get dressed in a cool space just before heading out — gearing up in a heated interior saturates your layers with moisture and reduces their effectiveness within the first few minutes of exposure.

Size guide

The Denali EPK-3 has a regular, expedition-parka cut. For standard use in cold conditions, plan for at least a thermal base layer underneath the jacket.

For the most demanding uses, with the addition of a fleece or a warmer mid layer, make sure to keep enough room — if in doubt, size up.
