The A14 is a knitted beanie — what Quebecers call a tuque — in 50% recycled cashmere and 50% wool. Two fine animal fibres, chosen to hold heat without itching.

It is worn with or without the turn-up: 21.5 cm high with the cuff folded, 24 cm wide laid flat. The knit is stretchy and the beanie comes in one size, unisex.

Knitted in Montréal, in the brand’s own workshop.

Why cashmere and wool

The head is where you lose heat fastest, being the least covered and the most richly supplied with blood. Cashmere is a far finer fibre than ordinary wool: it traps a great deal of air for very little thickness, and it does not itch. The wool gives the knit its structure over time and keeps holding heat when the knit takes on moisture — wet snow, drizzle, perspiration. Together they do better than either on its own.
