The 8053 zip jacket is cut from a 360 g/m² interlock, a double-faced knit noticeably denser than an ordinary jersey. Its fabric combines 63 % ring-spun organic cotton, 33 % recycled polyester and 4 % elastane: the natural fibre brings the handle, the recycled fibre the structure, the elastane the lasting hold. The cut is slightly fitted, the collar sits high, the zip closure takes a metal puller. Rated down to −5 °C / 23 °F, this jacket comes in sizes XS to XXL.

Thermal protection

The 8053 is rated down to −5 °C / 23 °F. Its insulating power comes from the density of the knit: at 360 g/m², the interlock traps a layer of air that the wind cuts through as soon as it picks up. It therefore sits in the mid-layer position, the one that warms. As soon as the air moves or rain sets in, add an outer jacket over the top: protection is complete again. Its majority cotton content gives comfort next to the skin and calls, in return, for a technical base layer as soon as effort makes you perspire.

A 360 g/m² interlock, a fitted cut, ribbing that holds and two raw-material certifications: the 8053 brings the warmth of a mid layer in a jacket that keeps the look of city wear. It is that double register which sets it apart from a technical fleece.

The three-layer system:

1st layer — base: next to the skin. Captures body heat and moves perspiration outwards.
2nd layer — mid layer (role of this product): insulates and holds warm air around the body. Stops neither wind nor rain.
3rd layer — outer: shell, softshell jacket or padded gilet. Blocks wind and holds warmth. In sustained rain, a hardshell takes over.

Cotton gives the comfort, a synthetic base layer gives dry skin — the two work together.
