The Stormtech Explorer EPK-2W is the women's version of our benchmark expedition parka — identical performance, cut designed for the female silhouette. It combines the exclusive H2XTREME® 10K / 10K membrane, Thermolex™ High Loft insulation and a Sherpa Fleece lining for complete thermal protection between -10°C and -30°C, without sacrificing mobility or comfort. Thermal Protection

Recommended for use between -10°C and -30°C*. The combination of Thermolex™ High Loft and Sherpa Fleece creates two complementary thermal barriers. For maximum effectiveness, this parka should be worn as the outer layer (3) of your clothing system — over a moisture-wicking base layer and a mid-layer insulator.

How to get the best from it?

The Grand-Froid 3-Layer System:

1. Base layer: Breathable thermal underwear — Merino wool recommended — to stay dry throughout your activity.
2. Mid layer: Heavyweight fleece or lightweight down jacket to trap and retain body heat.
3. Outer layer: Your EPK-2W to block wind, snow and external moisture.

Expert tip: Get dressed in a cool environment just before heading out — putting on your layers in a heated room saturates them with moisture and reduces their effectiveness from the very first minutes of exposure.

Washing: 30°C maximum, gentle cycle, zips closed. Remove faux fur trim before washing.
Drying: hang to dry or tumble dry on a low heat setting.
Do not: use fabric softener, iron, or dry clean.
Faux fur trim: hand wash separately only.
DWR reactivation: after washing, tumble dry on low heat for 20 minutes to restore the durable water repellent finish.
