As winter approaches, the days get shorter and the temperatures drop. Whether you are a sportsman or simply want to enjoy your free time to be outside without being cold, do you know about thermal clothing?

Thermal clothing: what is it for?

Thermal clothing is clothing that is close to the body and whose composition allows it to keep the heat in, while ensuring the evacuation of perspiration. Thus, it is the ally of sportsmen, who do not need to pile up layers to stay warm during their outdoor activities.

There are a multitude of thermal garments, allowing you to cover every part of your body from head to toe. Thermal underwear is a must to protect you from the cold. Indeed, because of their thinness, they slip easily under your clothes, allowing you a discreet and effective insulation.

Grand Froid : the usefulness of a thermal shirt.

It is necessary to adapt your outfit to the outside conditions. According to your needs, Grand Froid offers you a wide range of products. As a priority, we advise you to equip yourself with a thermal shirt. Indeed, all the vital organs being grouped in the upper body, it is the most important zone to protect.

So, if you are looking for a garment for a short outdoor sports activity, such as jogging, we recommend a thermal jersey made of elastane and polyester, which will keep you warm while evacuating perspiration from the effort.

On the other hand, if you have to practice an outdoor activity of long duration where you are in a static position, such as hunting, fishing or trekking, you can turn to a thermal garment made of merino wool, which is insulating and antibacterial, offering resistance to -50°C.

If you are a professional working for industry (cold room), green spaces, security services (firemen, gendarmes, military) or for any other profession that may be exposed to extreme temperatures, we have an adapted range, going down to -60°C thanks to its composition mixing merino wool and polyester.

At Grand Froid, enjoy a wide choice of men's thermal jerseys and women's thermal jerseys to protect you from extreme temperatures.

Thermal jersey : how to maintain it ?

In order to preserve the thermoregulatory properties of clothing, it is important to take care of it with care. Thus, when you want to machine wash it, the water temperature should not exceed 30°C, at the risk of seeing the wool shrink. Also, avoid dry cleaning and ironing your outfit. However, you can put it in the tumble dryer by following the classic drying process.

Resisting the extreme cold: how to equip yourself well?

In addition to the use of a thermal swimsuit, you can choose to complete your outfit with other adapted clothing: polar fleeces, pants, overalls, choker, hat, balaclava, shoes, socks, gloves, jackets.

In order to be ready for your winter outings, we advise you to accompany your jersey with thermal underwear, which can easily be slipped on under pants for more comfort.
