The Stormtech Altitude PFJ-3W is an ultralight quilted thermal jacket designed to be worn as a 2nd insulating layer under a waterproof shell, or alone as a 3rd layer in cold, dry conditions. Its fitted women's cut and Thermal Shell insulation with quilted baffles distribute warmth evenly while maintaining a clean silhouette and complete freedom of movement. Men's version available.

Thermal Protection

Recommended use from +5°C to -10°C alone — down to -25°C as part of a 3-layer system*. The PFJ-3W is designed to be the thermal adjustment variable in your outfit. Worn under a waterproof shell with a good thermal base layer, it significantly extends the comfort range of the whole system.

How to get the best from it?

The Grand-Froid 3-Layer System:

1st layer — breathable thermal base layer: wool for versatility and natural comfort, synthetic for breathability and value. Both work — the key is that it moves moisture away from the skin
2nd layer — the PFJ-3W: this is where it excels. Thin, light and insulating — it captures and retains body heat while remaining breathable during physical effort
3rd layer — waterproof shell: full outer protection against wind, rain and snow

Tip: Get dressed in a cool environment just before heading out — layering up in a heated room saturates your base layers with moisture and reduces their effectiveness from the very first minutes of exposure.
