Warm enough to stay on top, slim enough to go underneath

A work fleece that slides under everything else : it goes under a site jacket or a company softshell without bunching at the shoulders, and the sleeves stay put when you raise your arms.

The knit keeps its appearance wash after wash, where an ordinary fleece pills within a season. It closes right up to the collar and adjusts in one movement, without taking off whatever you are wearing over it.

Grand-Froid expert's view

Choose it for what goes over it : it stays on under the work jacket from morning to night, and only comes off in the locker room. The reflex to avoid is sizing up for comfort : too loose, and it lets air move instead of holding it.

What is it designed for?

A men’s work fleece spends most of its life under something else. Here are the trades this one is built for.

Thermal protection

On its own, in dry and still conditions, this fleece covers cold down to −10 °C / 14 °F. As soon as air moves, the perceived cold drops : under a windproof layer, it becomes the insulating layer of the system, and the working temperature of the whole then depends on the shell.

Why choose the JN1322 fleece jacket?

Because it sits where warmth is won : between the skin and the wind. It holds the air the body has warmed and lets itself be forgotten under a work jacket, which is the best thing you can say about a second layer. Add a thermal base layer underneath and a parka over the top.

The three-layer system:

  • 1st layer — base: next to the skin. Captures body heat and moves perspiration outwards.
  • 2nd layer — mid layer (role of this product): insulates and holds warm air around the body. Stops neither wind nor rain.
  • 3rd layer — outer: shell or softshell jacket. Protects from wind, rain and snow.
