A warm zip-up jacket made of 480 g/m² sherpa, a pile fabric whose long loops face outwards and trap warm air. The inside is a smooth tone-on-tone fleece that slides over a sweater or a technical base layer without catching. The stand-up collar is lined with sherpa as well; an inner storm flap runs along the zip.

Storage: a zipped chest pocket on the left and a welt side pocket in ripstop, a reinforced weave that stands up to repeated hand friction. Cuffs and hem are finished with an invisible elastic that keeps the warmth in without squeezing. Made of 100 % recycled polyester, post-consumer, GRS certified. Available from XXS to 3XL in a unisex fit.

Thermal protection

The long loops of the sherpa sit on the outside: at 480 g/m², they trap a layer of air that your body warms through the smooth inner fleece. That air stays put as long as nothing sweeps it away. Worn on its own, this jacket covers calm days down to −10 °C / 14 °F, outdoors as well as indoors. In strong wind or severe cold, a thin layer on top is enough to shelter the loops: a windbreaker when you are still, a hardshell when you are active. Sherpa stops neither wind nor rain; the layer on top takes care of that.

Why choose this sherpa jacket?

Sherpa is a pile fleece whose long loops face outwards: at equal weight, they hold more air than a flat fleece. That still air is what insulates. The smooth inner face brings immediate comfort against a sweater. Recycled polyester dries fast and goes through the washing machine without losing its loft.

The three-layer system:

1st layer — base: next to the skin. Captures body heat and moves perspiration outwards.
2nd layer — mid layer (role of this product): insulates and holds warm air around the body. Stops neither wind nor rain.
3rd layer — outer: shell, softshell jacket or padded gilet. Blocks wind and holds warmth. In sustained rain, a hardshell takes over.
