A heavy 400 gsm microfleece jacket engineered for serious thermal protection

This jacket is constructed from a dense 100% polyester microfleece fabric weighing 400 gsm — a density level significantly higher than standard mid-season fleeces. An advanced anti-pilling treatment preserves the smooth, clean finish wash after wash. Featuring a full-length central zip, insulating stand-up collar, and two secure zipped side pockets, it offers heavy, lasting thermal comfort.

Cold-Weather Technical Advice

You feel the density of the 400 gsm fabric immediately upon slipping it on: the insulation is substantial, similar to a heavy mountain jumper. It is the perfect jacket to keep close at hand for daily wear or work. Technical note: microfleece excels at trapping warm air but is naturally air-permeable. As soon as the wind picks up, pair it with a windproof outer shell or parka.

  • Fabric Softener: Avoid or use sparingly, as softeners can clog synthetic fibres and reduce breathability.
  • Drying: Line dry. Synthetic microfleece dries naturally within hours. Tumble drying is not recommended to prevent static build-up.
  • Ironing: Do not iron polyester microfleece directly.

Thanks to its heavy 400 gsm fabric weight and anti-pilling finish, this microfleece jacket adapts to two primary uses:

The 3-Layer Outdoor System:
  • Layer 1 (Base Layer): a thermal top worn directly against the skin captures body heat and wicks away sweat.
  • Layer 2 (Mid Layer — This Product): traps a large volume of warm air thanks to its dense 400 gsm knit. For extreme cold work or cold storage logistics, layer beneath a parka.
  • Layer 3 (Outer Shell — This Product in dry weather): wear on its own from autumn to spring. It provides high thermal insulation but does not block strong wind.
Cold-Weather Layering Advice (Damp Cold & Early Starts):

In winter, humid air and wind rapidly strip away body heat. For early morning commutes (travel, de-icing the car) or static outdoor work, layer this dense fleece over a long-sleeve breathable thermal top. Fasten your outer parka and put on accessories (gloves, beanie) at the very last moment as you step outside to avoid sweating indoors beforehand!
