ORIGIN & PERFORMANCE Designed and sewn in Montréal since 1979
Two fabrics in one coat, each where it belongs
The Lima is Audvik’s first hybrid coat: the brand’s EcoStretch fabric on the upper body, and on the lower body a recycled nylon made from fishing nets reclaimed at sea — tougher against abrasion, exactly where a coat rubs and sits.
Back length is 91.5 cm, the cut roomy and comfortable. PrimaLoft Black insulation spread evenly across body and sleeves, soft anti-static lining, YKK zip, fixed hood with a reflective detail, adjustable cuffs and inner micro-fleece cuffs. Available in sizes XS to 2XL.
Grand-Froid expert's view
Warm, dry, out of the wind: this is a Canadian coat, designed and sewn in Montréal by people who spend the winter in one. The Lima adds what only shows with use — the lower part of the coat, the part that rubs and sits, is cut from a tougher fabric than the top. That is where a coat wears out first.
What is it designed for?
A coat for someone who goes out every day and does not want to baby their clothes.
- Heavy daily use
- The commute
- Standing outside
- Weekends out of town
- Cold-weather travel
Thermal protection
PrimaLoft is a synthetic insulation developed for the US Army, which needed something that would still keep you warm once wet — the one thing down cannot do. Its microfibres imitate down: they hold heat for very little weight, but they do not collapse in the rain. You stay warm and dry. Here 200 gsm, spread evenly across body and sleeves. Wear it over a base layer and a fleece.

Why choose the Lima?
Because keeping out cold and rain is, for a Canadian, the bare minimum. The Lima goes further: it puts the hard-wearing fabric where a coat wears out and the insulation where the body gets cold. Two materials, each in its place. It is designed and sewn in Montréal, in the brand’s own workshop.
The three-layer system:
- 1st layer — base: next to the skin. Captures body heat and moves perspiration outwards.
- 2nd layer — mid layer: insulates and holds warm air around the body. Fleece, knit or thermal top.
- 3rd layer — outer (role of this product): shell, softshell jacket or padded gilet. Blocks wind and holds warmth. In sustained rain, a hardshell takes over.
* Indicative temperature. Perceived warmth varies with activity, body type, humidity, wind and the layers worn underneath.
