Most slippers stop at the front door. This one rises to 15.2 cm (6 in), closes with a toggle drawstring, and sits on a silicone-loaded nylon sole that grips tile and floorboards alike. The Hex-Flex® hexagonal nylon upper resists tearing, the B-Tek™ Dry treatment sheds surface water, and the fixed PolyWool™ footbed brings warmth without stopping the foot breathing. It slips on without lacing, packs into a bag, and works as well at home as it does for a night under canvas. Nine colours, EUR sizes 36/38 to 46/48.
Indoors, the thermostat reads 20 °C (68 °F) and your feet are cold anyway. The cold is not coming from the air, it is coming from the floor: tile at 16 °C (61 °F) draws heat away by contact, continuously, without the room ever feeling cold. Comfort is decided under the foot, and that is where the PolyWool™ footbed does its work. The other point is everyday life: putting the bins out, answering the door, going down to the cellar. The silicone sole grips where a thick sock slides, and the shaft sits high enough to keep the draught off your ankle.
Indoors, cold comes from the floor rather than the air: constant contact draws heat away far faster than the room around you. The answer therefore sits under the foot, where the PolyWool™ footbed holds warm air while still letting vapour through. The shaft closes the volume from above and stops the draught at the ankle. Under canvas, the same mechanism plays out again: a sleeping bag produces no heat, it only keeps what the body makes — and feet, at rest, make almost none.
Because it answers three demands that few slippers handle together: conduction with a cold floor, taken on under the foot; grip on tile and stairs, from the silicone loading; and the two-minute trip outside, made possible by the high shaft and the water-repellent finish. The same bootie holds its own under canvas in winter, worn inside the sleeping bag and for short moves around camp. To that is added a vegan build, with no materials of animal origin.
Why feet get cold indoors:
Warm feet change how the whole body feels: it is one thermal system, not two separate problems.
