The genuine liner for the Workhorse EPS
In a safety boot worn every day, the liner is the part that wears out first, long before the shell, the toe cap and the outsole. This one carries the same seven-layer Comfort-Fit build as the factory fit on the Workhorse EPS: Thermaplush™ against the foot, thermoformable B-Tek™ Foam, four-channel hollow fibre B-Tek™ Heat, a vaporised aluminium membrane, a PolyWool lining, Hydromax™ layering and Diamond Net insulation. It slides into the boot with no adaptation, lifts out to dry, and washes by hand. Sold in pairs, EUR sizes 40 to 47.

A safety boot is normally replaced when the toe cap or the outsole gives out. On a job in sub-zero cold, that is almost never what happens first: it is the liner that packs down, and the boot turns cold while the part that carries the certification is untouched. Changing the liner restores the original comfort temperature and saves scrapping a perfectly sound shell. It is also the answer for a second set: two liners in rotation, one on the foot while the other dries, and the question of damp stops arising for the rest of the week.
What is it for?
This liner is for Workhorse EPS owners, in several situations.
- Replacement after wear: when the boot is still sound but the inside has packed down and no longer holds the original temperature
- Second set in rotation: a dry liner every morning, without waiting for overnight drying — the arrangement for jobs in continuous cold
- Daily professional wear: six to ten hours a day, where perspiration builds up faster than it clears
- PPE fleet management: extending the working life of equipment whose toe cap and plate are intact
- Adjusting the fit: a new liner takes back volume, useful once the previous one has ended up loose
Thermal protection
Insulation does not come from thickness but from the air it traps, and each of the seven layers contributes differently. Thermaplush™, against the foot, carries perspiration outwards before it condenses. The thermoformable B-Tek™ Foam moulds to the shape of the foot and removes pockets of cold air. The four-channel hollow fibre B-Tek™ Heat builds the volume, and it carries most of the insulating power. Midway through the stack, a vaporised aluminium membrane reflects the energy the foot gives off back towards it. The PolyWool lining brings breathable warmth, Hydromax™ clears residual moisture and Diamond Net closes off the passage of air without adding bulk. It is this assembly that degrades with use: the fibre packs down, the volume of air falls, and the comfort temperature rises without anything showing.

For a half size, go up to the size above. The liner feels tight on first use: the insulating layers mould to the foot after a few hours of wear, so try it around the house before a full day out.

How to fit it
Four steps, no tools.
- Take out the old liner: unlace the boot fully and pull from the collar, without forcing on the heel
- Check inside the shell: clear out sand, grit or residual damp before fitting
- Feed the new liner in heel first, then unfold the collar to shaft height
- Put the boot on and walk: the foam moulds to the foot after a few hours — allow for that before a full working day
Care & Durability
- Wash in warm water with a mild detergent and a soft brush
- No machine wash, no spin, no tumble dryer: the structure of the fibre does not recover from it
- Dry in open air, away from any direct heat source
- Take the liner out of the boot after each day worn in damp cold
- Store without compression: a crushed liner loses the volume of air that insulates it

Why replace a liner?
Because a safety boot is not judged by the state of its shell. The shell, the toe cap and the plate last years; the inside takes perspiration, compression and body heat every single day. Replacing the part that wears rather than the whole boot extends the working life of the equipment and restores the original comfort temperature.
Three signs the time has come:
- The boot has become less warm: the hollow fibre has packed down under body weight and the volume of air, which is the real insulator, has fallen without the apparent thickness changing
- The foot moves around: the thermoformable foam no longer returns to shape, hold is lost and pockets of cold air appear at the heel
- Damp no longer clears: the liner is still lukewarm in the morning after a night of drying, a sign that the water management layers have reached their limit
A new liner in a sound shell is worth a new boot, for a fraction of the budget.
