The Winter Snow is a lace-up winter boot, cut to mid-calf. Its waterproof nylon upper is reinforced with polyurethane across the front of the foot and around the sole, where the boot rubs and takes the knocks. Inside, a 3M Thinsulate insole insulates from the ground and a warm textile lining wraps the foot and the ankle. Underneath, a TPR outsole with deep cleats grips on packed snow and frozen tracks. The eyelet and hook lacing lets you tighten the instep and the upper shaft separately, and reflective details complete the picture. Sizes 41 to 46.

Thermal protection
At the foot, cold comes mainly from the ground: you are in permanent contact with a surface that never warms up. That is where the 3M Thinsulate insole works, placed precisely between the sole of your foot and the ground. Its microfibres, far finer than a conventional insulating fibre, hold more still air for the same thickness — and it is that air that insulates, not the material itself.
Around the foot, the warm textile lining takes over up to the top of the shaft. The TPR outsole adds its own thickness underfoot, and that material stays supple as the temperature drops, where ordinary rubber hardens and loses its grip.
That leaves what gets in from above. The mid-calf shaft and the hook lacing close the way to snow when you sink in, and the waterproof nylon upper keeps moisture away from the insulation, which it would render useless.

Size guide
European sizes, from 41 to 46. Take your usual size, or half a size up if your feet sweat a lot or if you plan to wear a thick sock.
Rule number one: keep the foot dry. It is moisture, far more than the outside temperature, that cools a foot as the day goes on. Wear a mid-weight wool sock, which absorbs perspiration and moves it away from the skin, and leave it room: a compressed foot cools down faster than one with air around it. For a full day outdoors, a second pair of socks to change into at midday makes more difference than any piece of kit.
Care & Durability
- Clean the upper with water and a mild detergent, rinse, then wipe with a cloth
- Take the insole out after every outing and leave the boot open: even a short walk leaves the inside damp
- Dry gradually, away from any heat source. Crumpled newspaper inside absorbs the moisture and holds the shape while it dries
- Alternate two pairs if you can, particularly in rain or snow: a boot that dries out fully lasts considerably longer
- Rinse the upper after walking on salted roads, as de-icing products attack the finish
- No washing machine, and no acetone, alcohol or chemical cleaning product
- Replace the insole and the laces once they are worn, before the rest of the boot suffers for it
