A beanie you can spot from afar, and keep because it's warm

The Keady is a 100% acrylic knitted beanie, available in one size, and complemented with reflective accessories. The acrylic knit traps warm air without absorbing moisture like wool does, making it perfectly suited for days when you transition from dry cold to freezing drizzle. The fluorescent shades make it highly visible in low-light conditions, where a dark beanie would completely disappear at dusk.

What is it for?

The head is the area where heat loss is the fastest because the scalp is poorly insulated and highly vascularised. A beanie is the piece of equipment with the best ratio between minimal bulk and maximum comfort gain.

  • Early morning commutes and waiting: bus stops, train platforms, walking to the car, when the head feels the cold first.
  • Low light and late afternoon: the fluorescent colours and reflective accessories make the wearer visible long before they would otherwise be distinguishable.
  • Unregulated outdoor work: road maintenance, delivery, landscaping. (Note: this beanie is not certified PPE and does not replace mandatory high-visibility clothing where regulations require it).
  • Cycling and evening walks: it easily slips into a pocket and can be put on as soon as the wind picks up.
  • Under a hood: the knit remains thin enough not to be cumbersome.
Thermal Protection: Trapping the air

A knitted mesh insulates through the tiny gaps it creates between the fibres: these are what trap the air warmed by your scalp. Here, acrylic offers a practical advantage over wool: the fibre absorbs almost no water, preventing the beanie from becoming heavy and freezing cold after an hour of drizzle, and ensuring it dries very quickly. A knitted mesh lets the wind through by design: in strong winds, it should be worn under a hood, which then acts as a windbreaker.

  • Fluorescent shades, highly visible in low light.
  • One size, unisex design.
  • Fast drying, as the synthetic fibre absorbs practically no water.
Composition
  • Knit: 100% acrylic
Size Guide

This beanie is offered in one size. The elastic knitted mesh naturally adapts to the circumference of your head without any compression points, and can be worn just as easily on its own as under a hood. No sizing chart is necessary.

Care & Durability

⚠ [MISSING DATA] — Care symbols and washing temperature: missing from the supplier's technical sheet. Please check the garment's label.

  • Wash in lukewarm water, on a delicate cycle.
  • Do not use fabric softener, which flattens the knit and reduces its loft (and thus its insulation).
  • Dry flat, so that the beanie does not stretch under its own weight when wet.
  • Do not tumble dry: the acrylic fibre will deform under high heat.
  • Avoid prolonged contact with a direct heat source (radiator).

Extreme Cold Education: Why choose the Keady Beanie?

Because it combines two functions that rarely go together in this format: the warmth of a thick knit and real visibility at the end of the day. A dark beanie vanishes at dusk; this one stands out.

The biology of cold:

  • The head: An area of rapid heat loss, naturally poorly insulated. It must be covered first when the temperature drops.
  • The neck and nape: A neck warmer is a useful addition to the beanie, closing the gap left between your jacket collar and the beanie's edge.
  • The hands: They get cold when your body struggles to protect its core temperature. Therefore, covering your head indirectly helps to keep your hands warm and usable!

Covering your head costs thirty grams in a pocket and changes your entire day.

* Indicative thermal rating. Cold resistance also depends on your physical activity level, ambient humidity, wind, and the layering of your other garments.
